Artificial intelligence (AI) is key to solving society’s grand challenges and will fundamentally change the way we live and work. It is also a global “game changer” that has become a major driver of innovation, future growth and competitiveness.
Inria, the French national research institute for the digital sciences, and DFKI, the German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence, are two of the world’s largest nonprofit research institutes active in this field. The two institutes have teamed up to address the challenges relating to the foundations and the applications of modern AI, including machine learning, knowledge management, speech and language processing, computer vision, robotics, healthcare, mobility, industry 4.0, and security.
After a first successful workshop held in Nancy in January 2020, the second Inria – DFKI Workshop on AI to be held in Kaiserslautern in September 2021 jointly with INRAE will be yet another milestone in that direction. It will bring together researchers, students and engineers from all Inria, DFKI and INRAE research centres to establish concrete collaborations.
