Artificial intelligence (AI) is key to solving society’s grand challenges and will fundamentally change the way we live and work. It is also a global “game changer” that has become a major driver of innovation, future growth and competitiveness.
Inria, the French national research institute for the digital sciences, and DFKI, the German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence, are two of the world’s largest nonprofit research institutes active in this field. The two institutes have decided to team up to address the challenges relating to the foundations and the applications of modern AI, including machine learning, knowledge management, speech and language processing, computer vision, robotics, healthcare, mobility, industry 4.0, and security.
The first Inria – DFKI Workshop on AI ambitions to be the first milestone in that direction. It will bring together researchers, students and engineers from Inria Nancy – Grand Est, DFKI Saarbrücken/Kaiserslautern, and other Inria and DFKI research centres to establish concrete collaborations.
